Bachelor’s Study in Children’s Services / Early Childhood Education
A bachelor’s degree in children’s services (commonly offered as Bachelor of Early Childhood Education or Bachelor of Education – Early Childhood) in Australia prepares you to lead and teach in early learning settings for children from birth to age five (and sometimes through early primary years).
Programs combine theories such as child development, curriculum design, inclusion, family engagement—with extensive field placements in real childcare centers to build hands-on experience. To gain admission, you’ll generally need completion of higher secondary education (e.g. HSC, ISC) with good grades and meet English language requirements (e.g. IELTS / PTE). Over the 3–4-year duration, students complete professional placements, and upon graduation are eligible to be registered or recognized under the Australian Children’s Education & Care Quality Authority (ACECQA).
After graduating, you may apply for a Post-Study Work visa (Subclass 485) to gain work experience in Australia and potentially use that experience toward future migration or return home to contribute with advanced skills. Schools and early years centers in both metropolitan and regional Australia strongly demand qualified early childhood teachers.
